What is Pursuit?

A woman’s desire to be rightly and intentionally pursued by a man reflects her deep longing to be known, loved, and enjoyed. The idea of pursuit conveys more than a leisurely or halfhearted endeavor. Just as images of a police pursuit or a messenger on a galloping horse display urgency and intensity, a man’s pursuit of a woman is not a halfhearted or casually planned undertaking. While women often settle for being pursued for sex, a woman’s desire for pursuit by a man is a much more holistic and complex need. It involves being intimately know on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels. We can swim around the surface of each of those areas with casual friends or acquaintances, but marriage requires continually going deep in all of them. This does not happen overnight but is cultivated over years.
