Hanging around with a friends, gives us a chance to catch up. If I had a question and my best friend didn’t know the answer, they’d let me know where I might find the answer then ask me the next week we were together. I’d be asked abut my spiritual habits, see how work was and just generally show an interest. This friend had changed my life, I mean, it ultimately was God, by my friend facilitated the introduction. Who knows where I’d be if it hadn’t happened. besides, I was happy, I was happier than I had ever been. I had clarity. I felt for the first time in my life I had a really good sense of who I was and what truly mattered. Since then I’ve seen resistance everywhere. I see it in myself, family, friends. Understanding resistance is essential to understanding people, how they live, what and why they do what they do, It’s essential to understand ourselves. The fear of being alone is the father of many relationships that never should have been. When we choose to be with someone because we are afraid of being alone, we dishonor ourselves and the other person. One of life’s most essential lessons is learning to be alone. We keep resisting God even after we are convinced that his way is the best way. Visit the lonely. Somewhere not too far from where you live, someone is saying a prayer. He’s asking God to send someone to visit him and lift him up out of the depths of his loneliness. god wants you to help him answer that prayer.
