Bad Rebels-Good Rebels
“You are a pioneer,” many people said as they congratulated me for my selection as the first Constructive Service Credit in the Space Force. I’ve been quietly working with my head down, trying to figure out how I can live up to that statement.
Now, 14 months later, I finally feel like a tech trailblazer in the service.
We were able to achieve two major wins last week; we received senior leadership buy in on two major capability initiatives for cyber capabilities.
My flight chief said something that really made me reflect, “I’m so proud of you. This is exactly what you came back to do!”
Thanks to an amazing team of cyber professionals, lots of tough conversations and many hours of hard work – we are sparking change.
Here’s how we did it:
📚 Explored funded capabilities
🧭 Found teammates with technical acumen and mission focused desire to create positive changes
🧠 Researched existing and modern technologies
🚀 Made friends with people working similar mission sets across the joint services
👩🏼💻 Developed products to evaluate return on investment
🗣️ Lots and lots of conversations
“Perseverance and tenacity are as necessary for creating change as seeing the opportunity.”
