The Gratitude ToolKit

How to start the year with real gratitude?

Let’s look together at 6 tools you can use — and the one I’m using.

1.     Gratitude Letter
Write a weekly gratitude letter expressing appreciation to those who positively impacted your week (for example, every Saturday morning).

It allows you to strengthen connections and reminds you of the importance of others.

2.     Gratitude Jar
Keep a gratitude jar (physical or digital) in which to write down notes expressing moments of daily gratitude.

The jar serves as a visual reminder of the positive experiences in your life.

3.     Gratitude Circle
Join or form a gratitude circle (physical or digital) where people share moments of gratitude on a weekly basis.

It’s a kind of gratitude-based community, where you can reinforce your mindset.

4.     Gratitude Mindfulness
Practice daily gratitude mindfulness by simply being grateful for the present moment.
You can do it wherever you want.

This is the practice I’m doing now at the end of my daily meditation (just 2 minutes).

5.     Gratitude Journal
Keep a daily gratitude journal to jot down things you’re thankful for.
This practice helps you reflect on your life and put everything in perspective.
I did it throughout 2018 as a daily practice before going to bed. It worked!

6.     Gratitude Act
Engage in a small daily act of kindness by helping others and contributing to our community.
You can help them with the resources you have: time, money, or relationships.

Now take a moment to reflect.
Ask yourself this question:
→   Based on my life, my routine, my values, and my beliefs, which gratitude practice do I want to bring with me in next year? What will my gratitude toolkit look like?
