Should I Have…
I remember my thoughts when I was 14, coming back home on Sunday afternoons after my races:
→ “I should have warmed up better”
→ “I should have tried the route once more ”
→ “I should have started a little bit slower”
→ “I should have started a little bit faster”
→ “I should have taken that supplement instead”
→ “I should have…”
Then, I realized that blaming myself for the past didn’t bring me any kind of results.
So, I started to think:
→ “How can I use this race to win the next one?”
Everything changed.
This is not much different from how we approach the work.
Many people say:
→ “I should have asked for help”
→ “I should have taken more initiative”
→ “I should have called that client”
→ “I should have managed my time more efficiently”
→ “I should have posted my content at 9 am”
→ “I should have started to post on LinkedIn sooner”
→ “I should have said no”
→ “I should have…”
Instead, use the lesson I’ve gained from sports:
→ “How can I use my past to create a better future?” *
