Self-Care Daily Checklist

How do I practice self-care?

Let’s check out 4 things I do for self-care:

1.    One thing I really like is trying new restaurants.

Though I’m not super consistent with it.
But not the usual places.
I love trying cultural restaurants.
Like Japanese, French, Italian, Mexican…
I love it! It feels like connecting with their world.
I really enjoy exploring different cultures.
Probably because I grew up in a city with a strong culture.
Check out culture in New Orleans on Google

2. Okay, now you know I grew up in the south.
As you can imagine, nature feels like home to me.
Honestly, I think we talk a lot about exercise and nutrition.
We talk a lot about sleep and mindfulness.
But we talk too little about nature.
Prediction for the next 5-10 years?
Okay, nature is gonna be the next big wellbeing pillar.
We’ll see…

3.    Nature is home for me, yes.

But I have a secret second home — the gym.
Exercise is one of my favorite self-care activities.
I really can’t skip a single workout.
I love working out — even if it’s just for 1 hour a day.

4.    Do I like sleeping?
Nope!
Do I sleep a lot?
Yep!
Why?
Because there’s no peak performance without rest, right?
So even though I don’t like sleeping, I make sure to sleep a lot.
Self-care doesn’t mean doing everything you like.
Sometimes we just need to do what’s right for us.
By the way, it’s not that “I don’t like sleeping.”
It’s just that “I like living — I wanna be present.”
Nothing against sleep — sleep matters!

These are four things I do for my self-care:
→    Trying new cultural restaurants
→    Spending time in nature
→    Exercising
→    Sleeping

Are there any others?
Of course — we’ll explore them next time…
