Deciding When It’s Time to Let Them Go

How to let go?

It’s hard to say whether it’s okay or not.
I value happiness over everything, so you can imagine my answer…
But what we can do is ask ourselves some questions.
Self-reflection can help a lot here.
So, here are 10 questions you can ask yourself.
And why they are so important.

1.    “Am I out of touch with myself when I’m around this person?”
Why ask this question?
Because it helps you see if the relationship is making you feel good about yourself or not.

2.    “Do we repeatedly fail to see eye to eye?”
Why ask this question?
Because it shows if you’re stuck in the same arguments all the time.
Which is not good for you.

3.    “Do I lack emotional trust in this relationship?”
Why ask this question?
Because it tells you if you feel safe and comfortable being yourself around them.

4.    “Do I find myself making excuses for their behavior?”
Why ask this question?
Because it helps you see if you’re letting them off the hook when they’re not treating you well.

5.    “Do I feel emotionally drained by this person?”
Why ask this question?
Because it shows if they’re making you feel tired ort stressed out.
Which isn’t healthy, you know…

6.    “Are our priorities misaligned?”
Why ask this question?
Because misaligned priorities can lead to resentment.
Also, it helps you figure out if you’re giving up your own goals for the relationship.

7.    “Does this relationship impact my self-esteem negatively?”
Why ask this question?
Because it shows if the relationship is making you feel good or bad about yourself.
A relationship should uplift you — it should validate you.

8.    “Do they refuse to apologize or take accountability for their actions?”
Why ask this question?
Because it helps you see if they’re willing to admit when they’re wrong.
And if they’re willing to make things right.
Accountability is the foundation of trust and respect in a relationship.
Right?

9.    “Do they fail to express gratitude?”
Why ask this question?
Because it shows if they appreciate you and what you do for them.

10. “Is there constant jealousy in this relationship?”
Why ask this question?
Because it helps you see if they’re happy for you when good things happen.
Or if they get upset.
As we know, jealousy is often a sign of insecurity.
