Why Is Pursuit Important?

Pursuit s not important because a woman can’t take care of herself or must have a man to meet her needs. It doesn’t replace a woman’s responsibility to understand who she is and what her life is about, nor is it about creating a one-sided, codependent relationship. It is not just giving your wife whatever she wants or appeasing her; rather, it is living out concern for her long term good, whatever the cost. It is reminding her of who God has made her to be and calling out the best in her, being appropriately challenging and giving constructive criticism while serving as her most enthusiastic cheerleader and source of encouragement. Our culture sends women mixed messages: we are to accept ourselves unconditionally as we are, yet we are to be our best in every area, doing more better and faster. Even the healthiest and most mature women struggle mightily with demands from others and themselves.
