9 Mind Rest Hacks to Instantly Calm Your Mind

How do I rest mentally?

I think I’m more of a “prevention” gal than a “cure” gal.

Here are 4 things I do to rest mentally.

1.    I disconnect from tech for about 11 hours a day.

Which means my eyes don’t look at any screens for 11 hours:
→    2 hours before bedtime
→    8 hours of sleep
→    1 hour right after I wake up

This helps me disconnect completely.

It’s like I live two lives:
→    One totally immersed in tech
→    One like a monk

And I know 11 hours isn’t a lot.
But how many turn off their screens 2 hours before bedtime?
How many wait an hour after waking up to grab their phone? 🙂

2.    I take a micro-break every 50 minutes of work.

So:
→    50 minutes of work
→    About 10 minutes of rest

If I work more than 55 minutes, I immediately feel the difference.
I really need that break.
It helps me disconnect for a moment.
And guess what?
All my ideas come up during those magical 10 minutes.
Maybe because I spend 2 minutes looking at nature during that time.

3.    Zen meditation helps me a lot — no question about it!

A few weeks ago, I tried meditating twice a day.
But I wasn’t able to fit it into my crazy schedule.
So, I’m back to one meditation session a day.
Just 20 minutes right after I wake up.
Meditation helps me clear my mind.
It’s like a spa for my mind.

4.    I work out every day.

And you know what?
I do it more for my mind than for my body.
There’s no single “tool” more powerful than exercise for my mind.
It brings me calm, clarity, and focus.
It’s my favorite anti-stress tool.
I think I’m not stressed out mainly thanks to exercise.
