Self-Esteem Ladder 12 Steps To Build Your Self-Esteem
How can you boost your self-esteem?
Here’s a challenge for you:
(we’re gonna follow 6 steps)
1. Take your journal
2. Reflect on areas of your life where you feel most comfortable.
Those areas where you rarely challenge yourself.
This could be:
→ Work
→ Health
→ Hobbies
→ Social situations
→ Personal Growth
→ …
After reflecting, list these areas in your journal.
3. Now choose a specific area and set a small goal – realistic, of course.
Your goal needs to push you out of your comfort zone.
It’s your challenge.
For example, imagine you’ve chosen “Social situations”.
Your goal could be:
→ Start a conversation with a new person every day for the next 30 days.
Of course we’re assuming you’re not big on chatting with new people.
4. Now break down the goal into small steps.
So you can manage it more easily.
For example:
→ I go to that specific bar
→ Talk with the bartender
→ Take a coffee
→ Start a conversation with a new person
“I’m doing this every day for the next 30 days at 7:30 AM, starting tomorrow.”
5. After starting your challenge, track your progress.
How?
By using your journal, of course.
Every day, before bedtime, write your progress.
Jot down each step you take daily to win the challenge.
6. After writing the progress, take 5 minutes and do this:
→ Write down the daily lesson you’ve got thanks to your daily step
→ Write down the small win you’ve got thanks to your daily step
→ Celebrate that small win
What do I mean by “celebrate”?
Well, your celebration could be a simple affirmation like:
→ “You’re a winner!”
→ “You’re amazing!”
→ “I’m a phenomenon!”
→ “I’m the number 1!”
Be sure to use “you’re” or “I’m” so you can work on your “identity”.
You can literally change/improve who you think you are.
This is how you can boost your self-esteem.
As we know, the more challenges we win and celebrate, the higher our self-esteem.
