Self-Boundaries Your Personal Healthy Checklist

How to keep healthy boundaries?

I think your challenge is more of a prioritization challenge than a pure boundaries issue.
So, let’s see how you can use the Priority Wheel.

1.    First off, grab your journal.

Now, list all the competing priorities in your life.

For example:
→    Self-care
→    Business
→    Parenting
→    Volunteering
→    Building a LinkedIn presence

2.    Great! Now it’s time to reflect.

Reflect on the importance of each of these priorities to you.

Ask yourself these 3 questions:
→    What role does each priority play in my life?
→    How does it contribute to my overall wellbeing?
→    How important is each priority to me?

Just reflect.

3.    Now the funny part.

Do this:
→    Turn the page of your journal
→    Draw a big circle
→    And divide it into sections, one for each priority.

In our example, we’ll divide the circle into 5 sections.

Now your question is:
→    Should the sections be the same size?

Um, not really.
The size of each section should correspond to the amount of time, energy, and attention you currently allocate to that priority.
If you feel more comfortable, you can assign them a score.
And the total score should be 10.

Then you can create the sections.

For example:
→    Self-care: 0.5
→    Business: 3.5
→    Parenting: 3
→    Volunteering: 1.5
→    Building a LinkedIn presence: 1.5
Total: 10, right?

Now you can draw those 5 sections.

And I know what you’re thinking:
→    “Why do I have to draw those sections? I’ve already got these numbers!”

Right! And the visual impact of the Wheel will make you more aware 🙂

4.    Okay! Now we have the Priority Wheel in front of us, right?
“Um, right!”

Great! Now look at the size of each section and ask yourself:
→    Is there balance, or are certain priorities taking up significantly more space than others?
→    Is this distribution aligned with my values and long-term goals?

5.    Now, based on your answers, do this:
→    Decide how to adjust the size of each section

How?

→    By allocating the “right” amount of time, energy, and attention.

Just make sure to be realistic.
And remember: it’s totally fine if certain things take the lead sometimes.
We just need to strive for balance and alignment with our values.
