Loneliness-The Ultimate One Page Care

How can you shake off loneliness?

Here’s the tool my friend used:
→    15-Minute Connection

A couple of years ago he had to face a breakup.
So I gave him a piece of advice.
That piece of advice became the method I’m gonna share with you.
We’re gonna follow 6 steps.

1.    Take your journal

2.    Make a list of people who mean a lot to you.

For example:
→    Your dad
→    Your mom
→    Your sister
→    Your friend
→    Your cousin
→    Your colleague

3.    Now take your agenda and do this:
→    Set a “15-Minute Connection” slot for each day of the week.

This slot could be:
→    Before work
→    During a break at work
→    After lunch
→    After work
→    In the evening
→    Before bedtime
It doesn’t matter when.
The important thing is to set a 15-minute slot for each day of the week.

4.    Now decide whom you want to connect with next week.

For example:
→    Monday: Aisha
→    Tuesday: Lukas
→    Wednesday: Jasmine
→    …

After that, name your slots in your agenda
So:
→    15-Minute Connection with Aisha
→    15-Minute Connection with Lukas
→    15-Minute Connection with Jasmine

5.    Decide how you want to connect with them.

For example:
→    In person (physically)
→    Via phone call
→    Via video call
In person would be perfect, but it’s not always possible.

6.    When you connect with them, be sure to respect these five points:
→    Try to be as present as possible.
→    Remove any distractions, like TV, phone, notifications…
→    Appreciate them so they will enjoy spending more time with you.
→    Share your daily/weekly experiences, your thoughts and your feelings.
→    Show real interest in their life by “listening” to their thoughts and feelings.

Humble advice:
→    Write down this list and read it one minute before connecting with them.

That’s how a close friend of mine has driven away loneliness.
I really hope it can help you.
And let’s remember:
Loneliness doesn’t mean you’re a failure.
Loneliness doesn’t mean you’re unsociable.
Loneliness doesn’t mean you’re a weak person.

Loneliness is just your heart telling you:
→    Hey, we’re craving connection here!
