6 Burnout Pills To Always Keep With Us
How am I avoiding burnout in this year?
Here’s a simple tool I use:
“I just continue to take the 6 pills I always keep with me.”
Which pills?
The following six.
1. The Restoration Pill
I’m a big believer in the power of rest and sleep.
Sports taught me you can’t win without them.
So,
→ Every 50 minutes of work I have 10 minutes of rest
→ Every day I stay 11 hours without technology
→ Every day I sleep 8 hours.
2. The Delegation Pill
One of the best ways to avoid burnout is to simplify our life, right?
Well, you can’t imagine how much I love the word “simplify”.
And, I prefer time over money.
So if I can pay someone to do something I don’t like, I don’t think twice about it.
I immediately delegate that activity.
So,
→ Based on my resources, I delegate all the activities I don’t want to do
3. The Boundaries Pill
Many people struggle with burnout only because they haven’t taken time to set boundaries.
Or maybe they are not aware of how setting our boundaries influences our wellbeing.
So,
→ I don’t work at all hours
→ I don’t say too many “yes”
→ I don’t have notifications on tech devices
→ I don’t leave my health on the street
4. The Connection Pill
The stronger our relationships, the more positive emotions we can experience.
The more positive emotions we can experience, the less chance to burnout.
So,
→ I set time for my family
→ I set time for my friends
5. The Nature Pill
I grew up in the Dolomites (Italy) in the midst of nature.
In my first 19 years, my eyes saw more green than grey.
I know for sure the power of nature (colors and sound) to prevent burnout.
So,
→ Every day my eyes look at nature for about 20 minutes (during those “10 minutes of rest” I told you before)
6. The Self-Care Pill
The best way to take care of others is to take care of ourselves, right?
As maybe you know, I love people.
But the love we can give to others is directly correlated to the love we give to ourselves.
So,
→ I eat healthy every day
→ I meditate every day
→ I work out every day (my hobby)
→ I watch sports every week (my hobby)
This is how I avoid burnout.
Now the question is: “What’s gonna be the most important pill you’ll take in the future to prevent burnout?”
