The First Intervention
As we each look back, we can see people who have made great contributions to your lives in different ways. I am convinced that we all need someone in our to help us get our inner lies firmly established. And we are all called to be this person for others. I have tried to be this person for others, and I hope at some point you will too. My friend took me step by step through the basics of catholic spirituality, patiently answered my questions, prayed for me every day and held me accountable. Someone had taught my friend who is now teaching me and I have spent most of my life leading others to the path. Woven in between all the thought and reflections, ideas and stories that make up this blog are the habits that became the foundation of my spiritual life for the past twenty-five years. They are tried and true. They work. I resisted them at first, and still resist them some days all these years later. They are without a doubt a strong foundation upon which anyone could build a deep and vibrant relationship with God. Have you ever really had a plan for spiritual health and growth? Your friendship with others is not to be taken lightly. You are changing the direction of you friends’ lives, for better or for worse. Sooner or later, we all rise or fall to the level of our friendships. What’s your plan? Have you ever really had a plan for spiritual health and growth? How are you going to grow spiritually over the next twelve months? Write down a plan.
