Something is Missing

Have you ever had the sense that something in your life is missing? We all feel that way time to time. Some push it aside quickly in fear of where it could lead them. However, we should all pay attention to our dissatisfaction. Push it aside, ignore it, pretend it’s not there, it won’t go away. The more you ignore it the more restless you become. A student may have an exam coming up, and doesn’t take the time to study. As the day approaches the student his anxiety increases because he’s not prepared, at the same time, still refuses to study. Resistance has a firm hold on him. All his energy is on anxiety and not on studying until he is determined to sit and study his anxiety continues to grow.
It is ok to be dissatisfied. Being dissatisfied and pretending that we aren’t is the kind of lie that leads to spiritual and physical illness. Our dissatisfaction is trying to lead us to something better, or something different altogether. I want to encourage you to pay more close attention to that sense that something is missing in your life. This quiet discontent is creating restlessness in you for a reason. You may experience this in one way or another, It drives creativity and gives birth to new ideas. The restlessness needs to be tamed everyday so you can do something. Otherwise, you would just sit around coming up with ideas all the time. Nothing would get done, and you’d certainly wouldn’t finish anything.
